Primary Dance X Factor

Primary Dance X Factor

Oakbank School Sports Partnership raised £300 for Sue Ryder Care Manorlands at the first ever Primary Dance X Factor. Parents, brothers, sisters and grandparents descended upon Oakbank Sports College in the hundreds for the first ever Oakbank School Sports Partnership Primary Dance X Factor. Money was raised through admission fees and the sale of cakes and refreshments. Thank you to all that contributed and supported the event!

Teachers and children committed, time and effort into preparing dances, costumes and props for their respective performances. The evening was strengthened by two great performances from Oakbank Students and a fantastic demonstration from High Energy Dance Academy.

Holycroft Primary School – Bhangra Gals & The Street Dudes were the first of the primary schools to perform and perform they did. Dancing to Imran Khans Amplifier the Bhangra Gals danced elegantly along side The Street Dudes who danced with attitude to make a fitting match to the opening piece.

Long Lee Primary School – The Creeps put together a well thought out dance which made full use of pom poms, canes and supporting moves. A fun and upbeat performance.

Addingham Primary School – Dance Elation performed a fantastic dance to Nagara – the Holy Festival of Colour. The children were all in beautiful sparkling Indian dress as if they were taken out of a scene from a Bollywood movie. The timing was fantastic and the dance extremely well choreographed.

St Stephens Primary School – Cailin Swales & Sophie Perry danced to Brittany Spears, Womaniser. The girls wore ballerina outfits and smiled throughout. The girls were the first to perform daring lifts as part of an extremely brave performance.

Addingham Primary School – Addingham Breakers bopped and popped across the stage. The break dancing group used lifts and needed some strength to pull of the moves choreographed. A great contemporary performance.
